here's a tip , every time you work out , you actually break down muscle by wear & tear , so if you have a big weight training work out every second day , your body will rebuild that plus a bit more for reserve . on the other day do something light like swimming or focus on another area . it may take just a little longer but it will be more worth while & better for your body because of the better recovery factor as it replaces more muscle each second day - it's acually building muscle upon muscle the good results will in he end be better

sounds like you have an ectomorphic body type
" Ectomorphic body type -- The physique of an ectomorph is centered around the brain and nerves. These people are slim and possibly underweight, and will often have a hard time gaining weight and building muscle mass "
You can try different work outs, but most likely, the biggest you're going to get would be to have a Body like Bruce Lee had, which was very impressive to say the least.
But, then again, maybe you're still under 24 years old. Until you hit age 24, you're not done growing. You could wind up balooning up like I did. Go to My Yahoo! 360 to see what I used to look like at age 19 !

Hinder!, if you're trying to gain weight, stop cardio for a while, use heavy weights 4 and 4. 4 sets of the heaviest weight you can do, with 4 reps each. Take a lot of protein, (one gram per weight you r trying to gain 165 lbs =165 grams of protein, consult a doctor before doing anything, and also take "clean carbs" .. fruits, oatmeal, for energy

i would do a full body workout maybe 2 or 3 times a week. in order to gain muscle mass i would only do maybe 6-8 reps. the lower the rep the stronger you can become. sets are a different story. try doing around 4 to 6 sets for each muscle group but not all the same exercisce... vary it up a bit.

do weights once a day for about 90 min 4 times a week, and then cardio for about 1 hour twice a week..
More protein will build muscle as well.

That sounds like a good plan. Try adding protein shakes to your regimen along with added fruits and veggies with whole yogurt and peanut butter.

As long as you are eating a high protein diet along with it you should be fine, just make sure you are eating enough to maintain the work out with out damaging yourself
