My friend told me some things about my partner that i didnt know, those things really upset me and i want to talk to my partner about it but i dont want to get my friend in trouble for telling me, what should i do?

Ask him straight up without implying that you know the answer. See what he says and how he responds.
He might just tell you the truth, which may or may not agree with what you heard. If it's something serious and you don't hear an answer that is close to what your friend had to say, then it would be best to spill it. You've made up your mind that it will bother your relationship with him, so it's not something you can just let go. So it's important that you resolve the issue if it's that serious. I'm sure your friend will ultimately understand - at least a real friend would.

Don't tell him how you found out....Just let him know you need to talk about a few things..see if he will own up to them...

speak to him - you don't have to tell him who told you. It was kind of unrealistic of your friend to tell you, if she expects you not to talk to him. If she's your friend she'll realise you will wan tto talk to him.

just ask him..."is there anything you want to tell me?anything at all...i promise i wont get mad."
and just keep on sort of pressuring him until he tells you himself.
