Technically the terms relate to attitudes and explain how a person receives and processes energy. For an extrovert the energy tends to move outward and for an introvert the energy tends to move inward. Extroverts primarily focus on people and things whereas introverts are more concerned with thoughts and ideas. Basically, extroverts are often big talkers and people people. Introverts are typically the quiet "still waters" type. There are exceptions to that rule, however. I have met talkative introverts and quiet extroverts.

I don't know if society considers it "bad" exactly to be an introvert. But most introverts do encounter frustration as we live in a primarily extroverted world.

An introvert is a quiet withdrawn type of person. Introverts don't like spending time in large groups.

Extroverts are the outgoing talk to everybody type of person. For extroverts, the larger the group, the better.

Society generally considers it bad to be an introvert because they assume something's wrong with a person that doesn't always want to spend time with others. Introverts do well in what is considered tedious by others, which is why alot of introverts love their computers.

introverted is when you are more into being alone most of the time. you are more into small groups and can usually be pretty quiet and reserved. Extrovert is a more social person who likes to be out and doing things instead of hanging out at home. It's ok to be either way. Everyone has a different personality. I think everyone goes through stages where certain points in their life they are more extroverted or more introverted depending on their surroundings, situations in their life, and their age. I started being more extroverted after I went to college. I got out of my shell more. which ever one you are don't feel bad about it. as long as you're not withdrawn, then you are fine.

Introversion is not bad at all... it is simply a different type of personality. Extroverts and introverts differ in their methods of finding mental stimulation. Introverts are thinkers and like to think things through which involves being by themselves. They appear quiet and have a steady pace with things. Extroverts are just the opposite and thrive on interaction with other, fast acting and energetic. It's something I eventually figured out with my girlfriend who is an extrovert while I'm the introvert. We basically compliment each other.

But to answer your question, quite frankly, unfortunately society tends to look down on introversion... just look at a dictionary's definition.

introvert - a quiet, reserved person. Extrovert - outgoing social. Society doesnt call introversion bad, but it tends to reward people who are outgoing and social - these are the people we like, who get the better jobs, and the ones that others respect more.

it's not bad to be introvert. just introvert people take more time to get to know and to let others know them. and in this society, time is money and many people don't have the patience to dicover and uncover good qualities in others. it's sad though.
