You need to do a search for DVD shrink. It is a completely FREE and LEGAL program. Dvd Fab Decrypter can also be used when the copyright cannot be broken using dvd shrink alone. Nero is also another program you should look into. You can try looking up old versions to download online. It is completely LEGAL, and it won't cost anything.
Nero works in conjunction with Dvd shrink, so it is super easy when using these two programs together. I did alot of research on this whole debate on whether it's illegal to break copyrights or not. I found my answer... It is NOT illegal to break a copyrighted DVD and burn it off for personal use. It is however illegal to distribute it in anyway. That includes uploading to computer file sharing program, selling on street, or even making copies for people for free. They CANNOT make breaking copyrights and burning discs illegal because so many people rely on it to back up their own discs.
Don't listen to all of those people out there who will not give you a straight answer on this subject. You'll run into alot of people who will try and insult you for asking.
The bottom line is it is your judgement call to rip or not to rip. If you need any further help with this, feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to help you out. Hope this helps! :)

why would you want to do that? Bypassing the copyright means you are stealing someone's work. They've written a song, or a program, or a show, but they won't get paid for their work if you bypass the copyright. If you buy a regular copy, they get a certain amount of the proceeds. That's how they make their living. By bootlegging a DVD, you're denying them any profit on their work. If enough people do that, they will no longer be able to do creative work, write songs, make music, write plays, or whatever and will wind up flipping burgers at McDonalds.

DVD Decrypter will bybass most copy protections.
Be careful though - do not sell the copies - you could get into trouble.
With DVD decrypter you also need some harddrive space (as much as the DVD you want to copy holds) because it copies the clean files to the harddrive so you can burn it to a blank DVD with the burning software of your choice.

DVD Shrink is by far the best program out there! Its made so that it so easy to use and burn DVDs. I use it to create iso images and then use Roxio to put them on a DVD. Its also good because the quaility of your DVDs is great too

Maybe he/she just wants to put some movies they bought onto a laptop for a flight instead of carrying a pile of movies along. Under the Fair Use Act this is a right of the owner, unfortunately not yet the case for DVDs because of the DMCA.

i exploit Nero Burning ROM. that's the very maximum acceptable. you'll locate the previous version on the marketplace on EBay for roughly $30 (US). It no longer in user-friendly words burns video DVDs notwithstanding it is going to decompress a DIVX right into a DVD so that you may watch it on your television.

My friend uses nero to burn his DVDs but a more easy way would be to buy a DVD duplicator that copies entire DVDs.

A Norwegian programmer, Jon Johannsen, was the first to reverse engineer the code. Look at his site and you may find what you are looking for
