You can no longer buy off a contract in the US Military.

I believe you're talking about a little noticed clause that forces the military to discharge you honorably if you collect $100,000.00 in a single account. The reasoning for this is that you can't be effectively punished by UCMJ by docking your pay. It leads to a disruption in good order and discipline for rich guys to be screwin around.

Just a guess but I would take how many years you have left on your current contract and multiply that by your yearly salary....contact your legal department, they may be able to help you out.

Probably more than you have. The only people I have heard of that have done it are celebrities (Riddock Bowe) and mega-millions lottery winners.
