The smallest bird is the bee hummingbird which is 2.5 inches long ( 6.2 cm) weighing only 0.06 oz (1.6 g). Hummingbirds lay the smallest birds' eggs. They always lay 2 at a time, each the size of a person's small fingernail.

In the wild, the Hummingbird is the smallest. In Parrots, the Parrotlet is the smallest. In non-parrots...(in captivity) I'm not really sure. I'd imagine probably the Zebra Finch, I think?

Hi, I think Zebra finches are smaller than hummingbirds, at least the finches I raised were smaller than all the hummingbirds that come to my feeders.
