Instead of waiting for others to take the initiative we can contribute with our own.
We can desist from giving bribe. We should not expect any undue favour from anybody.
Without turning a blind eye, we can question injustice to others,or at least support those who stand for justice.
Once we start doing this then everything will fall in its place.

When you wish to overcome FROM corruption then you accept that India will have corruption forever. But if you overome corruption itself, then India can be an incorruptible state. India being in the top list of corruption in the world, future leaders should address not the corruption itself but what's causing it.
There are voluminous studies on how to fight corruption but none have been done really. It's probably because the people are waiting for the government to make the first step of a journey of a thousand miles...that won't happen...simply because corruption is 99.9% in government committed by public officials.
So, it is the civil society that should make the first move and that move is to address the root cause, corruption being the end result. The same ciivil society which has remaned quite, passive, afraid or what have India has while elected officials are robbing in broad daylight. Blame it on poverty which is blamed on lack of education which is blamed on lack of moral responsibility which is blamed on overpopulation which is blamed on customs which is based on tradition which is based on colonization. The reasons never end and everyone points to a different direction....while the corrupt is having a heydey looting.
When Non-government Organizations, People Organizations, People Initiatives, People Power or what have you in India start asking 'WHY', then you must keep asking Why until there is no more reason and that last reason is the root cause that needs solving.

To stop coruuption in India the entire society (Great Indian Citizens) will have to take an initiative and will have to make up a mind to avoid bribery, either giving or taking.
The indian electronic media is playing a good role in capturing and showing the clippings of the corrupt people. Even we have to help them at the fullest to nab such corrupt people.
The entire system and policies has to change. Boycot the corrupt leaders and see the change yourself. Try to give a chance to the new generation and you will see the result.
We have an opportunity as the elections are on.
The 1st Feb '07 is the date to start our fight agst Corruption.
All the very Best....... Well wisher of / for A Corruption Free India.

It is not fair to say we have corruption in India and how we can overcome that.
There is corruption in every country, read newspapers about Tony Blair of UK, selling Peerages for Money yet?
The supposedly cleanest Country like Japan etc are full of corrupt people, India is moderatively new nation although free for over 50 years, but people still have poverty, not enough food etc.
Where evere the is vote bank politics, there will be corruption, let all live on merit and as equals and corruption will dissapear.
In short, no vote bank politics, no quota, no minority apeasement, treat all alike and have stiff laws for caste dicrimination on lines of Racial discrimination in western countries.

the people who are giving money to the officers has to be avoided giving materials in ration shop.the officerswho are asking money should be suspended or dismissed.the laws has to be very severe that no would should spell the word corruption.there lot of (police)officers whom i have seen getting money from the poor people.since i have studying in +2 i have no time to deal with it.after entering the college i will be working for few years to launch a website which would promote india one step forward.i have got an dea which has to be developed and brought into existence.
one instance :
my school chemistry mster appeared for examination for an government job.he got 88 marks in examination result which was published in website.but when he went to the university he has verified is OMR sheet and he had got 94 marks.there 8 such students who's marks has been lowered in the result at website.so the job which has to be gone to my master and other 8 members has gone to some other due to political influence.there is no one to take care about it and ask about it.so there should be special officers appointed to check this sorts of things

The root cause of curroption in India is dirty politic. It is the only politician who don't want to remove corruption from our country, they know that if they do this it is non other than the politicians who will be efected directly with this action. The only man who can has the ability to clear curroption is Mr. President & Hon. Chief Justice.

There should be a platform of sufferers. they can make out exactly how to bell the cat. Moreover position holders in govt. are solely responsible for they work to prevent action and corrections in the system. They feel that outsiders are enemy to the system. System goes uncorrected thus and corruption multiplies. Academic institutions are to be tartgeted first.
