Sen. John McCain of Arizona commanded attention in that hearing room, too. The 2008 GOP presidential prospect, a supporter of Bush's troop increase in Iraq, explored the consequences of pulling out of Iraq.

"It took us a long time to recover from losing a war in Vietnam ," he said in a reference to Vietnam, where he spent five years as a prisoner. Of course the way we are going we will lose Iraq too. We will see shame soon. No way can this country win in Iraq due to it being like Vietnam.

Why did Sen John McCain admit we lost the Vietnam war?

Well jinkeys Scooby, those choppers lifting off the roof of the Embassy in Siagon, with crowds of screaming Vietnamese yelling "Take me with you! Take my kids!" and the North Vietnamese tanks rolling into the Presidental Pallace in Siagon the next day, hauling down the South Vietnames flag and running up their own...gee... that's what we call a CLUE.

OK... habitual liar... again you start with the misquotes, violation of copyright law, and fabrications.....

Let us point out your fabrications and lies, once again...:
""It took us a long time to recover from losing a war in Vietnam ,""
-- The actual quote is only "It took us a long time to recover from losing a war,"
"Of course the way we are going we will lose Iraq too. We will see shame soon. No way can this country win in Iraq due to it being like Vietnam."
-- Of course this is your typical fabricated LIE that you put in SO MANY of your inane questions....

You have no honor.... You are a propaganda TOOL in the same mold as Tokyo Rose.... you are a pitiful excuse for a human being and a waste of oxygen

Of course... for those who would want to see the real and UNALTERED article... it is listed in my sources section

Admitting the US lost the Vietnam war is like admitting the ocean is wet. If McCain had said the US won, then you would have good reason to question his opinion.

John McCain is the only honest politician I know. He "would rather lose a campaign than lose a war".

What do you mean about him admitting we lost the Vietnam War? WE DID LOSE! Why is that such a revelation?

We would have won the Iraqi war (which would not have happened if McCain was president) if he was nominated as the Republican candidate and won the 2000 presidential election. McCain is comfortable being McCain. Even Al Gore would have been better than W. Bush.

It was foolish for McCain to admit we lost Vietnam, 'cause if he had just waited 2 years he could have blamed it on Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama.

Because we lost the Viet Nam war just as we're losing the war in Iraq.
