The Socialist-controlled bureaucracy is determined to dumb down the population and fill their heads with political indoctrination. Such sheep are easy to control. Many teachers are happy to go along with the scheme. Those who are not get treated very badly, such as my ex-girlfriend.

You are looking at the wrong end of the equation.
It is student apathy. These kids would rather watch a movie or play a video game than write, they think they can get money without really having to work as they don't understand the real world. This is especially true in poorer neighborhoods where the only people the kids see with money are drug dealers and pimps and the entertainment industry enforces this view.
If your goal in life is to become either a sports star, a drug dealer or a pimp how much do you think they care about school???
But I also agree education is dumbed down. In AZ their answer to kids not being able to pass the AIMS was to lower the standards.

A teacher is as good as the appreciation he / she gets, at present there is none of that. Indian teachers are just numbers and not people, according to ruling babus.
A teacher is a source of knowledge, wisdom and cultural heritage, and is the only person in the world who actually imparts that knowledge on young minds, treat teachers with respect, not only parents and students but Babus, then you will see our schools become great instituions of learning.

you mean "why are the results so poor"?
having spent six years in a department of defense school abroad, i would say that the courses are structured to be accessible to everyone. military children often have moved multiple times and with that there are things that could be missed during the transition. i did really well at the department of defense school but when i transitioned to a public school in california, i started to do poorly. the standards and curriculum were higher and i had to teach myself many things (like how to write essays. i'm still not the best at it, but i'm always improving)

Most of our teachers only read at the 7 Grade reading level and can't pass a performance test to keep their credentials .. why do you think they are fighting so hard not to take it...
