I work for a mattress company, and i pride myself on knowing alot about sleep. You might want to try this site.

I can't locate the site I once had on this, but the younger you are, the more you need. After adulthood, your body still needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep to sufficiently restore itself to deal with stress and attacks against immunity (i.e. flu, colds, etc.).

i've read somewhere you're asleep 1/3 your life which would mean 8/24 hours a day.
