Kind of indicates how big God is on obedience eh? *wink*

I don't judge God. He INVENTED justice and fairness. I'm a human being and cannot use my human logic to condemn an omnipotent God. If God says don't do this or the penalty is your children and your childrens children will be affected, well then by golly He's God...ya better listen. And if you don't....don't complain about the consequences.

That's what the Bible teaches;

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

i do not believe that because god gave us the right to make our own mistakes he isnt going to punish the kids for someone elses misdeeds its not how it works if it was we would be in a lot worse place then we are right now. i am not sure what religion believes that but it isnt so that would defeat the who purpose of sin dont you think? if everyone else is paying for everyone elses actions. we get enough of that these days with out god doing it also. sorry if i sound rude just stating my thought on this but i get alittle carried away hope this helps anyhow

Try to read it like this:

When a father makes a series of bad choices, financial, spiritual, inter-personal or otherwise, it may take his offspring three or four generations to overcome the bad effects of them.

Assume a multi-millionaire father made a few bad busness decisions and lost all his money.

How long would it take his offspring to regain the status and economic power that was lost?

In the case of the old testament Israelites, when they offended God badly enough, he would allow their neighbors to come in, overcome them, and make slaves of them.

This could easily take a few generations to recover from.

Not fair at all. Neither is condemning all who've never heard of him to hell.
But listen: what is man to judge whether God is fair or not? God, in all reality, is God, and no matter how hard we try to understand him, he remains infinite.
So in the end, to me, he just wants to show us the terrible consequences of sin.

LISTEN. GOD CURSES WHOM HE WILLS AND HE BLESSES WHOM HE WILL BUT HE PLACED THAT WORKING AS A CONSEQUENCE TO US LIKE FOR EXAMPLE YOU MURDER U GO TO JAIL. LIKE WISE WITH GOD YOU DO THIS THING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FALL UNDER A CURSE OR A BLESSING THATS ONLY FAIR. NOW THE GREAT PART APART ABOUT THAT IS YOUR CHILDREN DONT HAVE TO BE CURSE IF IT STOPS WITH YOU.
