Don't you realize the aircraft would make enough noise to alert anyone? God Bless You and Our Southerner People.

After the 30+ jumps I've made (the majority being combat equipment at night) as a paratrooper I can honestly say that I've never had an inclination to yell or scream. The only time I've ever said anything in the air was to yell at someone to "slip left" or "slip right" so we don't have a mid-air collision.

The occasional curse word as I hit the ground like a sack of $h17 might of slipped out also...

Because they are trained not to? Besides the noise of the plane drowns out any screaming. Also there shouldn't be any screaming unless some idiot forgot (how I don't know) to connect thier 'biner to the static line.

It is however fun to have an extra caribiner on you and tap your buddy with a puzzled look on your face (while pointing between him and the static line for effect) just before they go out the door...

I have to answer this with a question. Why in the world would paratroopers scream when they jump out? The U.S. Army has a rigorous training course at Fort Benning, Georgia that weeds out those who are too faint of heart to jump out of airplanes. Oftentimes paratroopers jump at between 800 and 1200 feet AGL, meaning they wouldn't have much time to yell anyway.

Common sense. If you are afraid of jumping out of a plane and will scream, why would you join the U.S. airborne forces? Or any military forces that require parachuting.
There are people that aren't afraid of heights and jumping out of planes, and they join.

Ummm. Cause they don't scream. Most of them LOVE jumping - and they are professionals.

We only "jump" in the movies.
In real life, we get pushed.
That's what all that screaming
is about.
