A lot of people follow their own understanding of God and the Universe. More and more people are becoming 'Spiritual' which is not the same as 'Religious'.

You will find that things will make more sense if you explore 'Religion' and 'Spirituality' in your own way, and use your personal thoughts and feelings to guide you. Don't believe everything you hear and read, don't discard everything you think of on your own or 'feel' makes sense.

I personally believe that 'Religion' is a man-made phenomenon to help people feel closer to God and the Higher Power. I believe that it has served a very important purpose in the past, but now the times are changing and people of all religions are starting to adopt a more Spiritual outlook of their original Religion. It's interesting, because no matter what your background - Jewish, Hindu, Christian, Muslim ETC, when they follow a more spiritual belief system - suddenly their beliefs become very similar.

I wish you love and light, and the motivation to continue to pursue your spirituality for the greatest good of all.

Yep. Ask the Unitarian Universalists, of which I am one. I happen to be an atheist UU, but I can assure that UUism supports the idea that questions about the existence of, the nature of, and the relationship of god to the individual are unique to every person. UU's support every person's quest for truth and do not define those answers as dogma or creed. Instead they encourage you with your own quest.

As long the word of God is taught they are not following the main religious ideas. If the Spirit of God is not flowing in your Church, then ask God to direct you. It took me seven months to find a Church there the Spirit was flowing. Beware of your own and others that may have their own opinion. If it is not in God's Word, then it is not of God. Jesus says, " Be careful that you are not deceived." God put us here on this earth to Glorify Him daily. And He will Bless you!

Own understanding of God ? Yes !

But based on the non-conflicting ideas from various scriptures and from the lives of some great Seers whose wisdom reflects in their tolerance and respect of every other human no matter what they believe in !!

I want to understand God through His creation and specially through the understanding of Human Beings

Most people believe in the first God they were told about never questioning whether or not it made sense. I believe the Power of God will reveal itself to everyone. The question is whether or not you'll be able to hear its calling or be to busy telling everybody how it already is. Well said Gemini Virg.

I used to live next to someone named Jay Clark. It was a woman.

What you have done is you created your own God. Not a good idea at all. But you are like many people, we seem to like to make up a God that fits what we think is best for us.

Sorry to burst your ego but that won't work. You will have to accept God the way He is. You will eventually realize how much better that is then the god you created.

Yes I follow what I learn and know. I do read the Bible as a starting point for my learning. I read it with harsh criticism and many questions that I seek out. I've talk to many people of other religions to learn their prospective. I consider my self a Nondenominational Christian.

Yes!
I was going to ask a similar question!

I believe in a Higher Power or a Wise Creator that created us all with an individual path.

I believe what I believe, I don't really follow a certain religion but I do believe in god in my own way.

Do that and you will walk off the end of the earth. It is best to have a base. From that base you can divert a little here or there. But with no guidance you will be a long time finding home.
