You never know exactly. Typically once you get through all of your training, which can take up to a year or longer depending on your job, you get assigned to a unit. This unit will have a regular deployment cycle that they participate in. That will be your deployment cycle for the entire time you are with that unit. Once you get to said unit, only then will you know the cycle. Keep in mind that being deployed is one thing, training is something else. Army and Marine Corps units spend alot of time in the field. The Navy goes on short cruises. I have no idea what the Air Force does. Anyway the point is, is that you could have a month or two once you get to your unit or they may have just gotten back and you have a year or more. It all depends on the cycle the unit is attached to.

The deployment will be made in accordance of: Number of Troops to be Sent (decision made by congress), Rank, Experience, and Whether you are in the reserves or not. You may not even get deployed until a few years after you complete basic training. If you're in the Reserves it might be longer.

You will have more training after basic such as AIT...It also depends on the current need for soldiers...Why the marines? Think the Air Force so you can use the trainning in civilian life..Better study hard on the ASVAP so you dont get a crapy job in the military like combat engineer......Be smart an wise when choosing the military for a career....Trust me..

First you will go to boot camp and then you get to go home for 10 tens. After that you will either go to MCT or SOI depending on your MOS. Then you will get your Duty station. Don't let Gary talk you out of the Marines. No disrespect to the Air Force but there is more opportunities then you think in The Marines. You also earn the title Marine!!! When some says the were in the army or navy or Air force thats how they say it but we say I'm a Marine!!

The unit will deploy. If you are assigned to a unit that is prepping to go to the box then you go. If your unit just got back then it may be a little while.

It depends if there is a war going on & where they are stationed.
Even what their assignment (job) is. It can be immediately or never or anything in between.

YOU CAN CHOOSE SCHOOLS TO ATTEND BEFORE DEPLOYMENT . PICK A FIELD THAT YOU POSSIBLY MIGHT USE WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE MILITARY.
