It's a methacillin-staph resistant infection of the skin, and I have been on Clindamyicin, which is clearing it up. Everyone has their own opinions about everything, and I am going to ask my doctor because I personally do not think that this is "lifelong" condition. It is very common nowdays, and becoming more and more frequent within the communities.

MRSA is a staph infection that cannot be treated by a particular antibiotic, it is resistant to it. Another medication is used, and is curable.

Generally MRSA does not occur in a healty individual. It occurs in someone who has been sick or is chronically sick and has a weakend immune system. It is not curable per se but after time of treatment and your body builds back up it's immune system it will go away. If it was a debilitated nursing home patient it would probably never go away and frequently lasts a very long time in a diabetic patient but in a generally healthy patient with no chronic illness it will go away. I am a nurse and just asked this very question to our Infectious Disease doctor. That is what he told me about it.

Treatable: - Treatable mean you need help to solve your problem with the help of other person. Curable: - Curable mean you treat your problem by self and get the victory.

Clinda should knock it out, but it is a pernicious infection. Make sure you finish ALL the clinda- that's how it got resistant in the first place- from ppl who didn't fininsh the course of meds.
I am linking a medline query so you can read up.
