I personally would rather have a person be good and disbelieve in God.

In the end, it doesn't matter how good or bad you were. The question is, are your sins forgiven? Do you think giving money away earns you points with God? Does that mean that rich people are more important to God? Does God love Bill Gates any more because of the money he gives away? Or did God just love him more in the first place, and that's why he is so rich?

Neither choice is desirable, but if I have to choose, I'll say this: A. That will get you nowhere. God is not impressed by the so called belief of people who are not good. I could give you many bible verses on that. God warns such people of punishment.
B. The nonbeliever who does good could have an eternal reward coming. Jesus said that those who do good to others in need are really doing good toward Him whether they know it or not. But there are far more rewards in THIS life if you believe. You have the joy and comfort of always knowing God and knowing He is always there for you. I wish that for every non-believer...good or bad.

The bible tells us that there is none that are good no not one. So our definition of good and God's are on different plains. Therefore it doesn’t really matter if you’re a bad Christian or a good sinner, without Jesus Christ as your Saviour you are doomed to hell. By the way if you are saved your fruit will be good read
Galatians 5 and II Corn 5:17, remember a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit and a good tree cannot bring forth corrupt fruit, I am not judging just inspect the fruit and then you will know the roots.

Read for yourself.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Neither one, The BIble says "even the demonds belive in God and Tremble" (Epistle of James), but even though satan and the demonds belive in God, they wont escape his wrath and his Judgement. Secondly, being a "good person" will not work, because we can never be good enough to please God. when the BIble speaks of Gods goodness, it speaks of moral perfection in thought word and deed. have you ever told a Lie, ever stolen something? ever looked with Lust or used Gods name in vain? have you ever coveted (wanted something greedily)? if you have said yes to these five questions then you have broken half of the Ten Commandments (Gods perfect standard) and by your opwn admission your a lying thievivng blasphemous adulterer at heart and covetous. And If you died today and stod before God, thats exactly how he would see you, and because God is Holy and Just, he would not allow you into the Kingdom of heaven, but rather cast you out into eternal darkness and anguish(hell). the good news is that God knew we couldnt followe his perfect standard, so he sent his only son Jesus to live a perfect human life, and be sacrificed on the cross for your sins. you broke Gods Law, and Jesus paid your fine. and If you will repent (turn from sins) tward God, and put your faith and trust in Jesus, God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life that you could not earn yourself and don;t deserve, niether do I. But thats is Gods promise. he will forgive and set free the repentant heart from sin and fill them with the Holy spirirt and make them a new creature in Christ. Thats my challenge to you. repent tward God and trust in Jesus, because if what Im saying is true, then we must also face the most important claim Jesus maid in the whole of the Gosples "I am the way the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the fathter but by me."
God Bless

Being good and disbelieving in God . . it's a no-brainer.
What you fail to realize is that our legal system, in fact, our COUNTRY was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics. Religion is the very anchor for morality. We were all nurtured in an ethical society, and that gives us the freedom to talk about subjects like these. Severing the ties to religion leaves us adrift in moral relativism. Where do you think moral standards come from? Please don't tell me the government.
If you want to see a society where religious morality was cast aside in light of the cold, inhumanity of science, then look at Nazi Germany. Do you really want that?

Well, for your information, Bill Gates is a Presbyterian...Jesus says we can't say we love God and hate our neighbor, the two go together-loving God and others. We're all bad to some degree, whether we believe in God or not, and we're all good as well.

we live in a world where there is a lot of temptations and as a christian we try to do the best to our ability to be good but I think God is more interested about what you feel in your heart you could be the nicest person but if your heart is full of poison then that is not pleasing to God. You can not be bad and wait until the last minute to ask for forgiveness.

God will judge us by our Love. A good Atheist will enter heaven faster than the Christian riding a camel.
Even the devil believes in God. But he doesn't follow God's teachings.

Either way one would lose.
A. Even satan knows that God is real. But believing in God is not enough, you must confess your sins and come clean (so to speak).
B. Good works will not get you a ticket to Heaven. Works without faith is fruitless.
