My fiance's 2 cousins have been mad at us for an incident that happened 5 mths ago. (To make a long story short, one of the cousins who was receiving housing assistance was allowing her mom & brother to live with her; little did we know that her mom was telling the Social Security dept. that she was living with us (so she could keep her dissability benefits and her daughter could keep her low income) they got us involved to the point where a detective asked us ?'s and neither my fiance nor I was about to lie for them. Since we didn't lie for them, that is the reason why they are mad at us. So they talked bad about us for quite some time but now everything has calmed down but they still don't talk to us. We do see them at the grocery store and at a local club and they don't make any effort to talk to us. Do I send an invite & let them make the choice themselves if they don't want to come...but we don't want them to come and talk bad about us during our wedding either..what would u do?

Life is to short to sweat the little people be the bigger person. If they come they come and don't worry about them talking bad.People will not even pay them no mind just think if you was so bad why did you even take the time to invite. So go ahead send the invite it might just help your relationship with them you never no.

By what and how you say, you are a clearly a better person than they and you can add to your show of maturity by inviting them. If they do not show at least you showed the courtesy of inviting them. If they do show by all means be cordial and make no reference to the problems you just described. In this way there may be a chance of reconciliation. There is no benefit in prolonging dissension within a family.

I'd say yes. Things like weddings, family get togethers, and such bring out the love in friends and families. You inviting them may be enough to rekindle long lost friendships and family bonds.

I would still invite them. If they do come and talk bad about you, chances are whomever they are talking to will think less of them for saying such things at YOUR wedding.

Plus, they ARE family...

One other thing to consider... when anyone else (such as grandparents) be upset if you don't invite them. Is it worth ANOTHER fight?

Plus they always might not come.

maybe you should send them an invite because more than likely they won't even show up and you can at least say you were the bigger person in the long run good luck :)
