when talking about your beliefs in God or not? Don't you think people can get their point across without degrading and insulting over peoples beliefs?
How do you feel?

I guess you mean "Why" instead of where.

Well people take many issues very seriously. These issues define who they are. So people tend to be reactionary and can be very ho stice and degrading. The need comes out of fear and self defense becasue you are talking about WHO THEY ARE.

I personally choose not to be degrading nor insulting.

God specificaly requires it :

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Everyone wants the world to be predictable. We want the Sun to rise in the morning and set in the evening. We want to be in control of our destiny. We do not like to have our ideas of our predictable world shaken. We would have to rethink truth and this is a painful and scary process. So we push the other away. We label them as the madman. And so it ever will be.

I think everyone is equal, and yes I don't think we need to get hostile about it. If we all have different believes, so what?? As long as the person is kind and good, and loves, that's all that matters

I agree with you 100 percent....I have walked away from a chatroom ..a christian one because I can take it any more....sometimes I have slipped up and done it ...but this is not right at all. There is no need for it..and it is hurtful.

"Where" is the need? Hmmm, I don't know. I'll look for it though. If I find it I'll be sure to let ya know. LOL

I think most religious ppl feel that anything that contradicts them is "hostile", "degrading" and "insulting". I think that most religious ppl need to either lighten up, grow thicker skin and practice what they preach!

We all fall short from the glory of God. We are also in different maturity level with our faith. We are here for different reasons.

I wish we all could get along. : )
