a&d will dull your colours by oxidising them, dont use it. Prep H CREAM (not the ointment) helps with the itching and swelling if it swells at all without damaging any of the colour. also helps it heal quicker.

Get some natural lanolin free lotion, chamomile oil and lavender oil from your local natural market. Put 3 drops of each oil into 3 Tbsp of the lotion, use as often as needed. I make an all natural tattoo ointment that I sell to local shops, everyone who uses it loves it. The oils help the itching and fight infection.

I've used the H2Ocean before, on one of my first tattoos, it really worked. But I took the advice of my brother for my last few tattoos and used Tattoo-Goo. It's fragrance free which keeps from irritating the tattoo. Also its a thicker lotion so it really moisturizes it the skin while it heals. If I can't get my hands on that I have just used triple antibiotic ointment...works wonders! Also when it itches my tat artist suggested slapping the tattoo. Don't know why, but it always seems to make the itchy feeling go away for a little bit..lol Good luck!

put some bag balm on it and bite your lip. the tattoo itching is a good thing, that means it is healing the way it should.
DO NOT put neosporin or anti itch cream on it as they can alter the color work.
and do your best not to pick or scratch because you can end up pulling the color out before it has a chance to heal.
cheers!

I know what you mean! I thought the healing process was waaaaaay worse than getting the tattoo. I got a spray from the tattoo shop that helped a lot. It was a while ago, but I think it was called H2Ocean.

Pure sea buckthorn oil. It's used in hospitals to heal burns and radiation wounds, and for healing scar tissue, acne, rosacea etc. because it speeds up cell renewal. It has a natural anti-histamine in it as well as lots of vitamins, minerals. It's used as an ingredient in lots of medicinalproducts and anti-ageing preparations. So you can use it on your face too...

very lightly slapping the area will help curb the itch some. but i stress the lightly part. hit it too hard and it'll just make it hurt.

I was told two methods... lol for me both worked.
the first is to lightly tap the area that itches, don't slap it, just tap it.
the second is scratch the palm of one hand...I mean really scratch it like you want to scratch that tatt, then just lay your palm over your tatt. lol it's mind over body. lol but it works.
