definitely india; better economy, better technology, better education and a million man army with nukes. obviously they both have nukes but their leadership, at least at this point, are pretty intelligent people and i think realize the implications of a nuclear offensive. the question to ask is who is more dangerous and that would probably be pakistan b/c there are plenty of radicals in that country and should musharaff be overthrown those assest could be in some nasty hands. we are now more or less forced to prop up musharaff although he's been a very good allie with the fight on terror. of course, some day musharaff will die and then what? one of the most destructive failures of the clinton administration was to not be engaged with india and pakistan with regard to nuclear proliferation (but i guess damn me for speaking the truth on that subject). we can see how easily nukes have spread to iran and n. korea so now we have an incredibly serious problem on our hands, not to mention what happens to pakistan's nukes when musharaff kicks it.. and this guys life is in jeopardy 24/7.... :(

Pakistan and India have been going at it since before Pakistan broke off and formed their own country, in terms of military size and efficiency India is ahead but that's just mainly because India has been around for longer.

This is a hard question to answer coz each country is developing somethin new everyday trying to beat eachother specialy in missile and arms technology. if u make a comparison of the armed forces certainly india is stronger coz it has a huge army benefitted by its huge population of over 1 billion whereas pakistan only has a population of 160 million.
pakistan is trying to make weapons and fighter planes based on international standards whereas india relies on mixed technology with some internatinal standards and some russian technology which is not considered to be very successful. Pakistan aeronautical complex is considered to be the fifth largest aircraft and parts manufacturer and the third largest aircraft assembly plant in the world competing with arch rival from india the hindustan aeronautics limited http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_Aeronautical_Complex
Pakistan has a better range and larger fleet of locally manufactured tanks. Pakistani pilots are considered to be one of the best in the world and many countries specially in the middle east have airforce training contracts with pakistan airforce.
India is not behind and excels pakistan in many fields and trying to compete pakistan in every aspect and pakistan doing the same.
the two countries fought three wars for the disputed territory of kashmir but failed to reach results. finally they thought of making peace talks.
Both the countries are neuclear powers. the day after india tested its neuclear bomb pakistan tested five successful bombs.
So to say which country is more powerful in military is hard to answer coz if pakistan was weak india would have pressurised and taken control of kashmir and if india was weak pakistan would have done so.so i cant say who is more powerful
