Hi there...feline upper respiratory infections (URI) isn't contagious to humans and vice versa as they are not a zoonotic disease rather URI is species specific so only cats can catch colds from another cat. URI's come from either stress, shelter cats, cats who are outdoor cats, or are housed in close contact with lots of other cats, etc. URI's require treatment of antibiotics to thwart off secondary infections as a result of the URI. This can become life-threatening for a cat if not treated quickly.

I'd have it checked at a vet, it might be feline leukemia, that requires being in contact with an infected cat but all that requires is breath contact, like seeing each other through a screen. Or if you just got it and haven't had it checked yet. the reason I went into such detail is feline leukemia is common and fatal, there is no cure. Cats don't usually get colds. I really think you should get it to a vet.
PS: IF it does have FK and if you have other cats it can infect them too and every cat you have will die.

My mom's cats used to get colds all the time but one day she started smoking outside instead of inside because I was bringing over the grandkids alot and the cats stopped getting sick. Dust and dust mites burried in the carpet can make them sick just like us......so vaccuming your carpets often and dusting......open windows to let in fresh air often. Cats werent really meant to be inside animals.....they are hunters so keeping them cooped up...well the same if you never left the house. they might be tha happiest cats on the planet but they need fresh air too. try an air purifier.....or maybe a humidifier. My mom's cats ar all strictly inside but one and they are fine.

Colds come from germs, not weather dispite popular belief. Its just that our bodies (including our furry friends) aren't as able to defend off germs in the winter which is why it seems like cold weather is the cause.
I don't see how a human can pass anything along that lines to cat. A cold isn't a Zoontic dieases like rabies as it can not transfer from one species to another freely. Just watch you're kitty give him or her extra love and let them rest, he/she should be better in no time

Set the warmth on like 70. in case you purely want a protracted sleeve shirt than wonderful, yet once you will be able to desire to cuddle up in covers for all time than your freezing the unfavourable fur balls. even though it would additionally be they have been ill already with a kitty chilly or flu. the two way turn the warmth on, your landlord will value you for busted pipes in case you do no longer use the warmth.

Certain diseases and viruses can transfer directly from humans to animals and vice versa. But germs that do not necesarily effect humans can be carried with them and effect a cat's health.
