I have always thought of earth as a sort of classroom for us to learn. After you have had a lifetime to learn then you have a lifetime of service to others. When these are complete you move onto the life of peace, happiness and love. Have you ever noticed that hateful people are very often ignorant? Have you ever noticed that very peaceful, loving people help others and are very selfless? And then there is the heaven to christians and the white light energy to the others and the sky heavens to some. What of hell? Many believe that this is hell for some. You kind of really create your own hell if you allow yourself to be self absorbed, if you allow yourself to shut out the needs of others , if you allow yourself not to give mercy and forgiveness. You can create your own heaven if you give your all to help the helpless, if you open up your heart to give love and to receive love, if you give forgiveness and are non-judgemental to all. I like the idea of the book " The Five People you Meet in Heaven". Weither it is a shiny palace in the clouds with angels and trumpets or just swimming freely in a stream of fresh water as a fish, when we learn to let go of the proverbial spoon we will be able to leave the matrix of this life and expand our energy into the universe ...to be spun out again and again and again.

the physical location?
they say heaven is in the sky behind the clouds.
hell is at the earths core literally underneath the ground. apparently a volcano is a descent of hell.
mentally?
in our life..hell would be the problems we experience. stress, disease, depression. heaven would be love, happiness, relaxation and being healthy. you know how they say when youre in love, youre on Cloud 9. heaven would be the love without the pain.

We can find heaven and hell in our life. When we are happy in our family life it is heaven and when we are fed up with this life it becomes hell.

A mind not to be changed by place or time.
The mind is its own place, and in itself

In Hinduism heaven and hell are referred by term Loka (Swarga Loka and Naraga Loka).
Loka translates to a field of experience (and no physical place).
So heaven and hell are fields of experience that we come across because of our proper actions (Punya) or improper actions (sin - Papa).
When conducive, proper actions towards a goal are committed they lead to the desired outcome which is a source of happiness to us (Swarga) and when unconducive, wrong intended actions are committed the outcome is against our desires and beliefs and the result is agitation and sorrow (Naraga).
The results take time to fructify from the time of action and so it is said that whatever action you perform now will lead to Swarga and Naraga evaluated by Time (Kala).
These are idioms used in hinduism and so too in other religions for ease of communication and due to their artistic maturity.
Heaven and Hell are due to our identification with our thoughts. Religion is far more than that. It leads us to a farther state of perfection.
We are happy when asleep. We say I slept happily. Now after waking up from sleep, we say I am sorrowful, stressed. So what is the reason for stress. We cannot say that I was not conscious when asleep. If so how do you feel that you slept happily. Modern science and western psychology may call it subconsciousness or through other terms. In our culture we say that it was our natural state, but we most of the times colour ourselves with thoughts and assume that thoughts are us.
Anyway the problems are because our identification with the thoughts. So the solution to the problems are always because of I and mine. The solution can be by understanding who is that I which is referred, whether it is our thoughts or whether it is our real nature. Thoughts cannot be us, because it keeps changing and flowing in front of us. Anything which could witness is apart from ourselves.
This is meditation in Indian terms, finding out "WHO AM I" also called as Gnyana Yoga, the path of knowledge. In this way we find that we are our true nature and sorrow is only because of identification with useless temporary thoughts chain parading before us.
Devotion is complete surrender as everything is yours (including me). Even in that case there is no stress because we see everything as a gift of the primordial cause (GOD), so there is nothing for me separately, there even I am His. This also leads to the same goal.
Even if you go to an island, you cannot leave your mind. The problem is in our mind and not in the world. It is in our perception. So let us expand our perception and live contended in the midst of the challenging surroundings. How to do this is the entire teaching of our Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, where a demoralised man of action is raised by the wisdom words of the Lord). There is a download the installation version of this book with English translation and commentary. If this can help you, you can have it.

The Kingdom of Heaven is within us is the experience of all great saints and sages. May we all reach that natural peaceful state of ours with our own efforts.

Heaven and Hell can be found in our life itself and it completely depends on our own activities.

Within our own selves. When we achieve success we always scream "Good Heavens". Similarly on a failure " O Hell"
We do it unconsciously but still do not realise they are within ourselves and continue to think/believe that they are elsewhere.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!
