It really varies from dog to dog, just like in humans, some have heavy periods, and some just have spotting. A dog could bleed only for few days, the whole 21 days, or none at all ( a condition commonly called "silent heat").

Sometimes a female dog in heat will bleed the entire 21 days but that isn't common.
Usually about half that time is normal.

Bitches bleed for around 2-3 weeks while in season. Spaying is of coarse a cure but for those of us who show it's not an option. Doggy panties work great for the problem if your bit ch isn't really into cleaning up after herself.

a dog is in heat for around 3 weeks and can have a discharge for the whole time, or just a few days. either way spaying her will stop it all together.

Usually about 7 to 10 days but if you don't plan on breeding her it will make you life much easier to have her spayed, a boxer is a failry large breed and can have a pretty heavy discharge.

She wouldn't bleed at all if she was spayed.
