I think you have to apply your passport in the place where you live now. You have to secure your passport now before applying for a job so you have more time to apply for it (passport). The requirements are: three old Id's, birth certificate (authenticated), FBI Clearance, Police Clearance, duly accomplished form with Id's (passport size) and any other requirement required by the officials of the Agency.

its best to always try to get your passport as soon as possible.It can take up to six weeks.You need to supply your birth certificate, a drivers license and a social security card for identification.At the present almost any US post office and process a passport and even make your passport photo for you .Its good to have one and especially if you plan in the near future to be traveling abroad..

I am passport consultant. Ration card or bank account are NOT necessary. Ration card is NOT accepted anywhere. Any other proof will be OK.
