Any ideas on what I can paint for an acrylic painting for my art class? Subject or even a specific picture please.

Thanks for your help

One of my favorite expressions (and which always captures the attention of any instructors) is a tree. A willow tree is always beautiful, sensual and extremely easy....but it can be fleeting an wind-blown....so that is what I would go with.

What do you like to paint in other mediums? If the only requirement for the assignment is that you use acrylics, do any subject that pleases you. If you are accustomed to other mediums, the assignment is only directing you to become familiar with the acrylics. If you don't paint, it an exploration in painting. In either case your not likely to be graded on your content.

I use the Bob Ross method.Wet on wet.My paintings are mostly landscapes and they are beautiful. The one over my computer is a winter scene.Clouds, snow, trees, pond, one bare tree and two fence posts.Simple but pretty. I also used contact paper the size of my canvas and cut out the inside of an oval to frame my painting;leave the outside on the canvas ,do your painting then get brave and peel off the contact paper and add something else outside the oval;I added the bare tree and the fence and blended on a little snow at the bases of each.Happy Painting!!

Teachers like to see students painting portraits, or self portraits. A still life is good too, just gather things that don't have excessive detail, some detail is good but if the painting is for a class I'm sure you only have a week or two to work on it, so keep it relatively simple. fruit is good.

Go to Art.com and look at the vintage section. I did those type paintings for my class and it turned out so good, especially the vintage food ones.
