k-lite codec : K-lite is NOT a codec, but a package of various codecs with a single installer that calls the individual installers. Lite version installs the bare minimum most common codecs.
divx: the regular codec's free, the pro codec cost $$$. See divx.com

If you are unable to watch video or you can't open any files (avi, mp4, divx, etc...) it's very likely that your computer doesn't have right codecs. You need to install K-lite Codec Pack to fix the issue.
