So I want to go on vacation, Alaska or Cancun?

I have been to the Florida Keys before, so have done the warm weather, have the chance to go to Alaska and Cancun is just a theory. I heard Alaska is beautiful.

Right now, Alaska is too cold. But around the summer time, it'd be a great time to go. It's absolutely breathtaking.

To me, the beach areas start to look the same. If you like beaches and beach activities, Cancun is very affordable for what you get (versus a place like Hawaii).

If you like to relax, lay on the beach, maybe do some water sports, Cancun is the way to go.

If you like to check out nature, do stuff in the forest, walk on a glacier, Alaska is gorgeous. I went kayaking there and had a bald eagle fly about 6 feet above me. It's wingspan looked about 5 feet across. Got about 15 feet from a bear hanging out near the water's edge. Went on a bike ride that led me past a waterfall and to a salmon hatchery. Very cool stuff on top of seeing glaciers calve (where chunks fall off and splash into the ocean) or whale watching.

go to alaska and stay at one of those lodges someone built on a river. there are loads of them. go fishing with the guides and have your meals cooked. it won't be the cheapest thing but it is a hoot. i loved it. done it 3 times. mosquitos though...bring the deet.

personal preference: i would go to Cancun because it's winter already and i'm getting a cold, so i would enjoy the beautiful summer getaway and get a tan

I'm going to Chile next week...beaches and mountain fun (even glaciers)...it's like North America's west coast only compressed and turned upside down. I love it.
