The one you read on the net, is only for fun. but many past cultures did base their every life on it. Such as the Maya civilazation, and the Egytians, just to name two. There is much more to it than we know. much to learn and to discover.

An astrological magazine is published from Bangalore, by B.V.Raman. One sloka is quoted invariably in all the issues in the beginning; "GRAHANI PHALACHARENA SUCHAYANTI MANISHINA, KO VAKTA TARATMYASYA KEVALAM VEDHASAM VINA". The meaning is man can only indicate(suchayanti). Who knows exactly whether it happens or not except Lord Brahma (kevelam vedhasam vina). This clearly provides answer to your first part of the question. Next one has to understand that the whole universe moves in a systematic order including planets and other beings. There is a co relation between all these movements. The study is very wast and no one can claim that he is a master on the entire subject. That is why whenever any one predicts certain things happen and others do not. You know every human being has a weakness to know his future and expects better things to happen. This weakness is exploited a few smart people to make their living. Generally people take shelter either in astrology or superstitions to achieve their goals as it is a shortcut method and for any failure blame can be dropped on UNKNOWN.

Personally, I don't believe in astrology. Now, whether it's right or wrong..... good question. I guess I have never labeled something right or wrong. I know whether or not something is right or wrong for me, but I will not speak for others. I am a God-fearing Christian and have always believed that it is not my place to judge....anything or anyone. I have lots of friend from all sorts of backgrounds - yes, people who you would not think a Christian would hang out with - and I could careless about some of their beliefs and actions. I may not believe the same things others believe but it is not up to me to tell someone I think they are wrong or right. I believe that that would be wrong and I will be judged by God on how well of a friend I am and the mere fact that I did not judge people. It all comes down to love and tolerance. I love my friends because God gave me the gift of love....because I can love I will not withold it from someone because of intolerance. So, sorry, I'm only answering one of your questions. ;)
Take care!

Astrology is based on the spiritual/physical/magnetic
forces at work on our level. When the planets are in certain positions within the magnetic field of our solar system, one can predict how humans might behave at that time. Everyone might
be happy. Or there might be a magnetic pressure making everyone feel down.
Studying it can teach one about human individuality. But
blindly following such things cause one to give up their free
will, and become a victim of fate.
Destiny is something one makes for onesself.
Fate is what happens if they don't.

I think it is fun to read horoscopes and get tarrot card readings some times, but I don't believe that you should live your life by your astrological reading.
I have been paying a bit more attention to it though, since a friend of mine had a book that described personalities of the different signs. I thought I'd read it for fun and when I read mine I quite literally screamed and threw the book across the room...it was scarily correct...

I believe in astrology. I think Indian astrolgy is better than western.
I dont say that I go with astrolgy, because It is supposed to give rough idea about future, like probability.
Scientists use probability, to estimate not to risk on it.

I was really curious about this one too, and then I came across a verse one day by God's showing me, which ended my puzzlement. =D
Seeking an astrologer or fortune teller, known as divination, represents a lack of faith and desertion in the one true God.
Leviticus 19:26; Deuteronomy 18: 9-14
I also found what happened to my mother when she got so caught up in it. She thinks acts like she cannot change how she is, constantly trying to live up to her "rebeliousness" that goes along with the sign, or tries to be "sexy", or firey, when only it causes her to marinate herself in wine, act like she is much younger than she is, making her look rather unbrilliant and imature. She even upsets my older sister who is not a christian at all, and her feyonce. I dont want to talk unkind about my mother because I love her with everything I've got, even though she has hurt me in many ways, but I found myself relating situations in life to horoscopes, looking for my daily advice, letting it be a fraud guidance. I also found myself looking for certain signs in relationships, ones that apparently went with my sign, being as silly to hesitate dating certain people because of horoscope. Even if you dont go that far, like my friend, the verse says it all, and my personal experience just clarifies it!
I hope this helped! God bless you! And I hope you find clarity in this as well!
Your friend

Astrology can be a useful tool when put in the hands of God, and it can be destructive when used as a tool in place of God.
If you really study astr. you''l be amazed on how accurate it can be in deciphering a personality. But I'm talking about really studying it, not just Omar in your local paper.
Capricorn, Gemini moon, Virgo rising, with Venus in Sag.
