Like you said, it's a personal visit. Singapore is a sovereign country which has the right to allow entry or not to any person.

But politics being politics, there are always 2 sides to a coin. U dont even really know if what is being broadcast on the papers/ internet is really what happened or if some info had been intentionally or conveniently left out.

Thailand has this military interim government which has a point to prove. So obviously they are going to have to make an issue out of it in a show of strength to their people.

It'll blow over... it typically does in this region. Just see the usual spats between Singapore and Malaysia.

If Mr Thaksin visit China or US, do you think the Thailand Government will make it a issue? They will probably pretend nothing have happened. Singapore as the smaller country in the region, is always being "bully" by the neighbour countries. This is the norm, and had already happened so many time.

Nothing Thaksin does is personal except in terms of him wanting his power back. This guy is a megalomaniac and his trip to Singapore was an attempt to undermine the current military government in Bangkok. If anyone thinks Thaksin is going to become a regular citizen, you are in for a rude surprise. If the government lets him back into Thailand, he isn't going to open a little som tam stand or have a mango orchard, he's going to conspire and do what he can to get his power back. And the money from the corruption is just a tiny part of it; it's power. He went to Singapore to help cultivate his return.

As you said it is personal so why we bother. I did not hear the Thailand saying anything about interview given in Japan, China or New York. Why make so much noise when he visited Singapore. Because the Thai government got no share from the proceeds as it went direct to Thaksin's pocket.
Anyway the Thailand is on the losing side as they are the one whom going to suffer in economy in the long run if they chase foreign investment out.
Btw I have lost my respect for them since we have helped so many people from the tsunami and also we should learn from here that no need to rush to help our neighbours all the time.
