If you are just looking to be friends or someone to study with sure ask, but if this is someone trying to pick you up. I say give it out and let him call you. It is one of the joys of being a female. You let him make that first phone call.

No. It is hassle trying to explain to my girlfriend why some random female is calling for me. I may be interested, but I may be in a relationship at the moment. This allows me to get the number and call if things don't work out in that relationship. Not that I would intentionally destroy a relationship over a phone number, just that I'd rather not cause any drama if I didn't have to.

I think it depends on the situation - if it's like in a lot of movies where a suave young gentleman comes up and asks your number while youre chit chatting with your girlfriends and doesn't plan on sticking around to talk, then just give him yours. But if you're at a party or something of that sort and you've been talking and getting close all night then ask for his too :) Also you're allowed to be the first to ask for numbers!

I would get his phone number just so you can program it into your cell. Then you know when he is calling, or if you missed his call you can call him back.Its also good to have in case he turns into a weirdo and you dont want to pick up your phone when he calls!!

Well I am a guy and we have to call the girl. It do not look proper when a girl calls the guy. If they do not call you at the 3rd day they are not goin to call you.
