There is a guy at my work that I would like to ask out but I am not sure how to go about it. We don't talk but say hi in passing. I really don't want to be unconvertable at work if he says no or already has a girlfriend. I have been divorced for 6 years and I am really nervous about this. What would be the best way to ask him out? I don't want to ask him at work. I almost feel to old for this but I know I am not. It's just been a real long time. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Be very careful with this since you both work together. Remember that if things don't work out - you will still have to maintain a profession demeanor around him. This may be hard if he turns out not to be that great of a person in a relationship. After you weigh all the pros and cons and decide to go out with him, go slow. Good luck.

usually the questions about relationships at work get a negative answers ,
what about if it does not work out and you still have to see the guy every day
,
so make sure that you want this ,and he should notice by then that you are friendly ,and if he does not respond and talk back or make some sort of aproach ,than it means he is not too interested,
so take a bit of time with it

otherwise you are an adult woman ,just ask if he wants to have a coffee with you and take it from there ,and the best place to do that is around work.

if the result is positive ,say what about dinner sometime and you are on your way

Since he works in the same building or perhaps even on the same floor as you do, try to find out if he already is in a relationship. Perhaps you have friends in common, you could ask around and see what you can find out. The last thing you want to do is become someones mistress or to make someone uncomfortable by asking them out when they are in a relationship. Try going by where he sits, check out his desk, see if there are pictures of family, girlfriends, etc...

Striking up a conversation at work is a good ice-breaker. Find out what he likes to drink = tea, coffee, etc... Stroll by his desk and say, I'm going to ... to get a latte, would you like something...

Going on a date with someone you know next to nothing about, really isn't the best way to start dating again. Try to develop a friendship first. That will give you a chance to find out if he is in a relationship or not.

You need to invite him to a 501 with others from work and find more info on him. First see if there is common interest from colleagues at work... It sound silly but this is what its all about... Have someone set you up with him. Or walk right up to him after work and ask him one time face to face that you are interested in him blahhh bla bla, and if he would like to explore the avenue fine if not you will never mention it again... Now if married back off..

Work policies prohibit co workers from dating, move on to the next guy or one of you will have to transfer out if the relationship goes to the next step. Think about having an argument with your lover at your place of employment, it could be a career ending move...

First you need to find out 1) if he has a girlfriend/ wife, 2) if he likes you back. Try to flirt with him a little. see where that goes. Sometimes it helps to have a friend help out in this type of thing.

do you have luch at the same time? Try to get him alone and make up a conversation and say your g/f must be very luck to have you? if he says why, say because you are a nice person. If he says he doesn't have a g/f ask him if he would enjoy a chat over lunch break. Hope this helps. Take care Heather

If the guy is smart, he's not interested.

Direct from Leykis 101:
Dipping your friend in the company ink is a strict no-no.

In fact, you should not engage in any conversation with a woman at work unless it directly relates to work. Do not compliment them. Do not ask them out to dinner. Your conversation outside of work should be limited to Good (Morning / Afternoon / Evening). If you go beyond this, you're a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you do date a coworker and you break up, things can get tense around the office (especially if it was a nasty breakup). She can sabotage your career or, worse, file lawsuits claiming sexual harassment. At the minimum, you will have to see her every day, and maybe collaborate with her frequently. It's just not worth it. With all the background checks employers perform, if a sexual harassment lawsuit pops up you can say goodby to that job.

The courts are very hostile towards men in this regard as well, so just play it safe. If women want to be engaged in normal conversation, they can lobby the courts to be more lenient first. We're not going to risk our future to try to get a date with someone who, for all we know, is waiting for a guy to say "nice skirt" so she can claim sexual harassment and settle for a large sum of money.

Report all sexual harassments! If do not report it then it means that it is acceptable for a women to sexually harass men and get away with it.

Don't ask him out; lead him to ask YOU out. Flirt with him in a very subtle way. Just be friendly, warm, upbeat, light personality around him, always show him that u r pleased to see him, etc. If he is interested, he will ask you out. Never ask a man out. He will value u more if u don't. Good luck! :)
