"In God we trust" was added to currency in 1956, replacing "E Pluribus Unum (Out of many, one). "Under God" was added to the Pledge in 1954.
Isn't this is clear violation of the separation of church and state?

Yes, since the statement in general "respects" a theistic over a non-theistic religion, and the capital G in "God" makes it Christian or Muslim, since these are the only ones who actually believe the word "god" is a proper noun.

And Chainsaw or anyone else who believes there is no such separation is simply wrong. Though it is not in the Constitution, it is established .(1)

Why don't you pray about it? Maybe if you asked the 85% majority of people who believe in God and don't mind God's name in the pledge or on the money then you might understand that you are just like a flea on the back of a elephant arguing with another flea who owns the elephant. And the fact is neither own him they are just along for the ride, Just like you God has put you here and it won't be long till your gone but God is eternal, and the best you can do is on board or get left behind, the choice is yours.

The reason that it says "In God we Trust" on our currency is because faith is the only thing that makes it valuable. Faith that the system won't collapse. In the beggining, our currency was backed by Gold. Basically if the gonvernment didnt have enough gold to back the printing of more currency they couldn't. And it was good. But they threw all that out the window (lookup fiat currency) and now the only thing that makes your dollar worth more than the very nice paper it is printed on is the faith that at some point someone will trade it for something you think is worth 1 dollar. I think we should keep it on there or our whole economy will collapse!

Convince 51% of the American people to support it, write the legislators, and bring it up in elections. Make it a major issue, tantamount to the abortion debate and prayer in the public schools. No votes for anyone who doesn't declare that God has no place on the money or in the pledge.

But then again, you may want to work on universal health care, global warming, and that little skirmish going on in the Middle East first.

There is no separation of church and state. Read the First Amendment listed below

It does not hurt anyone so stuff it.

The way to get it overturned is to use the legislative process.

Also, acknowledging there is a God does not establish any religion, only acknowledges that many people have a religion.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Someone asked something about locking all the Christians up in a ZOO, not to long ago. I think that this is the best course of action.

Honestly does it really matter. Since when do you say the pledge of allegiance, and when do you really inspect money when you look at it.
