EXODUS 23:25 And YOU must serve Jehovah YOUR God, and he will certainly bless your bread and your water; and I shall indeed turn malady away from your midst. 26 Neither a woman suffering an abortion nor a barren woman will exist in your land. I shall make the number of your days full.
EXODUS 21:22 “And in case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. 23 But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul,
WHY THE THUMBS DOWN IT SAYS ABORTION. AND FATAL ACCIDENT OF THE UNBORN CHILD.
The Hebrew sha·khal′, meaning “suffer an abortion” (Ex 23:26), is also rendered “bereave” (De 32:25), ‘bereave of children’ (Le 26:22), ‘miscarry’ (Ho 9:14), and “prove fruitless” (Mal 3:11).
The expressions “miscarriage” and “one prematurely born” (Ps 58:8; Ec 6:3) render the Hebrew word ne′phel, which comes from the root na·phal′, meaning “fall.”—Compare Isa 26:18.

You will probably get Psalm 139 thrown on here as an answer. Saying that God knows you from the womb. This passage doesn't state that you were a living person - just that you were forming. According to Genesis God is involved in the creation of EVERY living thing - why would a baby be any different than a plant? Or an animal baby? God is involved in those too. Verses that state that God is against abortion are taken out of context - you can do that with ANY verse. For more information like this, go to the link listed below. It is very interesting, and quite an eye opener.

The Bible says that human life is sacred from the very beginning (medical research generally concludes that life begins at conception). Abortion is sin.
commentary on others' answers
Bill K has had a "happy accident" with his Bible quotes. most of the verses you quote show an acceptance of killing in general, not just abortion (war, curses, etc). this does not place the fetus in a separate category from a fully-grown person. i, too, checked the context of Gary D's first passage, and you are correct in pointing out that it does not pertain to the question; however, some versions do use the word "abortion" to mean miscarry.

The only thing I have ever read was that you shalt not kill.I have read the bible and I never noticed anything in it that said anything about a women stopping a pregnancy. That's up to the women, I don't agree personally myself.but under special circumstances.I dont think that abortion existed back then .but i dont really know. maybe they had some herbs that would stop it? May God be with you and guide you.

It is interesting to me that you think it is OK to murder when you don't have a name for the fetus. If each one that was murdered had to be held by people that allowed the doctors to cut them out of the womb then it might make a difference. If your daughter was pregnant and she terminated her pregnancy it might make a difference that the FETUS could have been your granddaughter/grandson. If you were required to hold that squirming FETUS as the doctor stabbed it to death, it might make a difference to you. BUT that doesn't matter because some woman has the right to terminate her pregnancy, RIGHT?? I hope that you and your family members do not have any relatives that are pregnant right now.

Thou shall not commit murder.
"Abortion" is just a word to sugarcoat the murder.

The bible doesn't say a single word about abortion.
Gary D has had a "happy accident" (read that as glaring mistake with his bible quotes.
Exodus 23:25-26 - 25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will MISCARRY or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. (nice try, but isn't one of the commandments "thou shalt not lie?")
Exodus 21:22-23 - 22 "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. (Doesn't mention soul there bucky).
From the Skeptics Annotated Bible:
The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6
Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.
Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16
God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. -- Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. -- Hosea 9:14
Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. -- Hosea 9:16
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. -- Hosea 13:16
God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.
Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. -- 2 Samuel 12:14
God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.
The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. ...
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. -- Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28
God's law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women.
Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. -- Genesis 38:24
