If you wrote a song for him don't show it to he. It will scare him. And he might start to think you are a stoker. Your best bet is to invite him to go out with you and some friends. That will give you a chance to get to know him a little better and he can get to know you a little better.

Assuming the girl was a good friend of mine and showed me the song she wrote, I'd sing it back to her (badly) just to make her laugh.

Thank her and tell her how it makes you feel... If you can get over this you have something special if you can't years down the road you will regret it. You don't have to reciprocate unless you want to. Some times you can just say you kinda like her...
