The economy in 2006 was/is pretty good.

And BTW - the idea that the official unemployment rate is based only on those people getting unemployment checks is a myth.

Guess it depends on whether or not your at the top, middle or low end of the scale. The unemployment rate isn't a true count of people that are out of work. Only those presently getting unemployment checks. New businesses have started but he neglected to mention all those that were lost due to leaving the country or taken by illegal workers. Prices have gone up on everything, taxes are higher and I sure don't see how great it is. But there are some that are doing well. The government is still in debt. My state keeps wanting to tax more and more on everything because it's in debt over its head. Electric went up 25%. Your guess is as good as mine.
