That is scientific.
In our religion Hinduism, Karma is one major factor that derives the result.
Any result is the collective contribution
1. Our personal efforts (Karma)
2. The external agents that take part in the activity.
It has a part in Prarabhda (already fructified) and Purushartha (future actions).
In terms of Purushartha the approach is as follows:
To have a result produced, both personal efforts and external agents should positively contribute towards the activity.
The external agents is something in which we have no control of. It happens as the scientific result of the wholesome Nature and its components.
But our actions Karma is something which we have a choice. So if we need some result, our contribution to it has to be done without which the result cannot come out.
But the result can also be different because of the external factors. Hinduism advises Karma (duty) and Prasada Bhava towards Karma phala (acceptance of the result) to tide over these actions and its results.
1. Karma - do your part to the fullest contribution towards the Goal
2. Prasada Bhava - Accept facts and the results produced by such actions + external influences gracefully.
If one could do these, then he is a Karma yogi and the results of Karma can never trouble him.
In terms of Prarabdha (already fructified actions) the approach is as follows:
Every result that we have is the product of our actions + external factors. External factors can not be governed by us. But if we have got an adverse result it could also be because of our akarma (non-action) or vikarma (opposite actions against our goals).
So the result has scientifically got produced. So we have to have prasadha bhava in accepting it and performing Karma (duty) to improve or change it for the future as we require it to be.
Let us remember "Problems can be resolved, Facts HAVE TO BE gracefully accepted".
Prarabhda Karma is a FACT has to be accepted with Prasadha Bhava (gracefully)
Purushartha Karma is a problem and you are the boss. You can chose to solve it by doing the right karma or spoil it by akarma (inaction) or vikarma (inappropriate actions).

Karma is a universal thing through most religions. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and the ever popular "An eye for an eye" such. You name it something else, and Christians get their knickers in a twist. I personally believe that Karma does exist, and that we do reap what we sow. Granted it doesnt always work as fast as we'd like, but does anything truly?

Yes because goodness leads to more goodness. That's what I've found from personal experience. Of course if you are bad, it will come back to bite you in the rear, guaranteed. It's all about balance, no action goes without eliciting some sort of reaction. Same goes for our own actions.

On a certain level yes. If you do good things for people, people will do good things for you. If you don't believe me, go do some work at your local charity and watch what happens. Take note, write it down. Then go to your local restaurant and shoot 20 people, then see what happens.

Karma is not that exactly. And yes, I believe in karma to most extent. I am not afraid of it.
I am talking here about fear, because, my belief in karma or god is not same as islamic or christian, who fear god.

I believe in the Bible.
The Bible says:
"Do not be deceived,
God is not mocked;
whatever a man sows,
this he will also reap."
