What do you mean, when it starts? It started on 9/11/01. Iran and Syria, as well as our supposed friend Saudi Arabia keep fueling terrorism against the World, sending CHILDREN and WOMEN, strapped with bombs, into civilian communities, killing innocent people. Iran and North Korea are gearing up for nulear weapons capabilities, China just blew up a communications satellite with a ballistic missile. The Palestinians are split between two factions, African nations are killing their own people,
and on and on. The big blow will come when the CIVILIZED nations finally come together and stop this crap, or the CIVILIZED nations remain sitting back, and let the cowardly terrorists finally make a big strike against the world. Pearl Harbor pales in comparison to 9/11. (For those who don't know, the Japanese struck Pearl Harbor, thus throwing us into WW2.)
As to our allies, any country that does not believe in the Cowards, who strike innocents, will be on our side. Those who believe in the Cowards, as well as the Cowards themselves, should be eliminated. We are in the 21st Century, not the 10th Century, riding camels and living in caves.

I would imagine that we would probably have Great Britain, because they always stick with us, as well as Australia and Canada because they always stick with Great Britain. We might be able to rely on Germany and Israel as well. The smaller countries in NATO would probably come running to us for protection, but that's about it. Looking at it from a more pessimistic standpoint, there may really not be a need for allies if WWIII does indeed occur. It'll undoubtedly escalade into a nuclear war, and once one of those starts, there's no stopping it and we'll probably manage to fry the planet anyways.

When? Not if? Sheesh. Well, in that case, we'd better start sucking up. Explain the words "foreign policy" to King George. You have to speak slowly, though.

It's much too vague a premise and there are an infinite number of variables. And no one is really counting on it happening anyway.
