i had a theory it was because soy is more prominent in their daily diet. but since things are imported so often these days, i'm guessing it's not so much a problem anymore. i'm korean/irish, and don't have a problem really, but my mother, who is all korean, seems to avoid a lot of dairy...

not just Asian, anyone not from Europe has a higher chance for lactose intolerance. The condition is caused by a missing enzyme in the stomach (there are 5, and lactose intolerant people only have 4).

Maybe not. Japanese and Koreans consume a lot of fresh milk daily. They can't seem to live without it. I myself am Asian. But I do drink milk. The problem is there is no dairy industry in my country. So we have to import all our milk.

Asians and Native Americas are more prone to lactose intolerance for some reason.

Yeah, I wish I wasn't lactose intolerant. Whenever I drink milk, I get stomach cramps, bloating, and my a$$ starts spraying mud!
