Sade J. is correct in that you should see a doctor and get this checked. If it is ADD, there are medications that can be helpful. Also, one of the possible symptoms of depression or anxiety can be short attention span.

I used to work as a psych RN and I have depression with anxiety. The antidepressant helps with my short attention span and also, I find Ginko Biloba helpful.

If you have non of the above conditions, there are concentration exercises that can help. One of the best is to concentrate on the tip of a second hand of a clock. When thoughts come into your mind, ignore them and continue focusing on the tip of the second hand.

The nice thing about this exercise is that you will be aware of how much time goes by in between thoughts. When you lose focus enough that you become preoccupied and interested in your thoughts, just gently bring your attention back to the tip of the second hand.

Notice your longest time between thoughts and set goals to increase this time. Do this exercise for 10 minutes twice a day and as you progress you will notice increased ability to concentrate in the rest of your life. I learned this exercise in a yoga ashram.

My best wishes to you and I hope that something that I have written has helped.

Yes there is something you can do. Go and talk to a doctor. Your distraction is very common in females. You probably have ADD or ADHD. These are attention deficit disorders. The doctor will perscribe you some medication to help with it. I strongly suggest that you go and see a doctor because if you are a young age, studies show that females with untreated ADD or ADHD are more prone to substance and chemical abuse. Please go get checked!!!

What was the question?

Try Ginko Biloba...it is supposed to support memory.
May ask a Pharmacist if they know of anything good...they usually know more than doctors about over the counter drugs.
