The enviroment is nice. The coffee is ok... I think it would be ALOT better if I didnt know it was so full of fat, sugar, carbs, and calories :) My top 3 cold drinks are (in no particular order): chai ice blended, vanilla bean (add caramel), and caramel frap. My top 3 hot drinks are: white choc. mocha, cinnamon, vanilla latte, and caramel macchiato... I dont like their hot chai for some reason...but overall SB is good.

I like Starbucks. I'm originally from Seattle, where there's a lot of coffee places and Starbucks is one of my favorites still. The three major coffee cups I always seem to see people walking around with are Starbucks, Seattle's Best, and Tully's. So, you know since so many people go there it must be good.

Starbucks coffee beans has always been over roasted if not burnt. If you're limiting your caffeine intake, burnt beans are the way to go. I only go to Starbucks if my only choices are gas stations or donut shops. Since Starbucks are popping up everywhere, the quality of service and cleanliness of the stores have sufferred. If you walk in at any Starbucks in the morning, don't be surprised to find that they are out of coffee or out of cream. Environment is similar to McDonalds now that the focus is on quantity and not quality. Oh and did I mention the beans are burnt?

Starbucks uses commercial beans so they are not as fresh tasting as other beans-depending on where you go. It is like a McDonalds. everything is pre-made, pre-set and completely commercialized so no matter where you go a caramel frap tastes like a caramel frap. It is a good place to go to if you want to know for sure that your drink wont suck. Going to local coffeeshops can result in bad drinks because there technique makes all the difference.

I love Starbucks but I'm going to use your question to bemoan the fact that I have to drive 4 miles out of my work route to get to one. I do love their white chocolate raspberry mochas. And they do have soy milk available for the lactose sensitive.

HEY STARBUCKS!!! HOWSE ABOUT A STORE IN DETROIT THAT'S NOT DOWNTOWN OR IN THE SUBURBS!!!

There's a man there, normally around 17 years old and slightly high, and he'll ask you want you want, he rings you up, and then a crazy pierced girl with unnaturally red hair will make your drink and call out your name with a voice totally too professonal to come from that mengaled mess of a body, you'll smile, and say thanks... and you leave them a quarter in the tip jar.

I LOVE the iced caramel macchiato or the double chocolate chip frappacino. Their coffee and drinks are wonderful, but I've not been at all impressed with their pastries.
