The best thing that I've found is to stay really busy with other things besides food. If possible, stay away from wherever it is that you eat or food is readily available.

Make a list of things that you like to do for when you get bored.
Try not to carry a lot of extra money around when you're out in order to avoid buying junk food. See if you can get your folks to agree to get rid of junk food in your house.

The best way to build stamina is just to set goals: for one week run for 2 blocks, then increase it to 3 blocks the next week, etc, until you are up to your goal of a mile.

Good luck!

so i went through the same thing at that age. I'm now 18 and run 4 to 5 miles a day and could barely run a 10 minute mile before. First thing to try: do intervals... so run hard for a quarter of a mile or a few minutes then slowly for a while to regain breath and every time push yourself a little more.
Also if you have a dog go running with it. You may not know it but they motivate you and keep ya going. if not get a friend to run with you, you always push yourself a little more when you have competition.
Also to help stop snacking, drink a lot of water and chew gum! If your bored and not hungry but want to eat grab a stick of gum instead it helps.
There are a lot of different ways to work up to a mile, you just have to find one that you like.
good luck!

As for a running or jogging routine, someone your age shouldn't be taking advise from this on-line system for one. You should really ask your doctor or physical ed teacher to help you plan a routine for yourself. But when you did get a routine, make sure you do it in a safe well lite area and never go alone.

As for wanting to stop eating candy when you're bored, I have the same problem. My big craving is chocolate. When I'm bored and feel like I need chocolate. But before I go indulge in it, I first try and ask myself if I really need it. Is it really worth it to risk not making my next week's weight loss goal to have that chocolate? That usually works. But when it doesn't, I try to have healthy sweet snacks on hand. First, I try drinking something warm, like tea or coffee. But you're too young to get hooked on caffeine. So try a sugar free hot chocolate. If you don't want to try those. Try sugar free Jello or puddings, or the custard style yogurts. Also, I recommend that instead of eating when your bored, try going out for a walk or jog with a friend. If they aren't available, then try starting a new hobby. I also enjoy drawing, painting, reading and writing. When I get started on one of these, I get so involved, I forget about my cravings.

Good luck.

Start out running or fast walking slow. then increase your time and length of run. We all over eat when we are stressed or at night watching TV.115 pounds for a 11-12 year old is just about the right weight depending on how tall you are,Just don't eat to much sweets or chips and chunckfood go more with carrots ,apples, nuts or almonds.so get that training suit on and start jogging Good Luck

I'm the same age and did the same thing what i do is join a team (swimming or soccer) and at school i play basket ball or if a PE teacher has a challenge like try to shoot a basket from half court if you miss 30 push ups so i do it, when i get home i ride my bike, also little things like walking your dog taking out the trash or buying a pull up bar and putting it on your door help keep you in fit if you need to go on a diet and eat foods that are good for you while they still taste good like grapes or raspberry's. I hope this message helps.

Don't over work your self. I have this problem too. Try getting a good book. And ask your mom if she can get you some healthy snacks next time shes at the store. Don't drink too many soft drinks, drink water instead. While you are watching TV maybe you could jog in place or do sit ups. Go for a walk with a friend, it always makes it more enjoyable.

mmm... story of my life kiddo. Okay, well for the eating part, try to keep those unhealthy things from reach. Throw them out, give them away, shove them off to ur family, or heck, sell them at school. Just get them out of ur reach. Out of sight, out of mind. Also, eating healthy really isn't that hard. You just have to combo it right. I love to eat apples and bananas with a little bit of peanut butter... bananas and kiwi with a dollop of cottage cheese. Bananas really sweeten everything up. So try to mix and match. It's not really that fun at first, but when you get the hand of it, u'll gain more confidence. As for the running, pace urself. You know how on the mile run for PE, when that yucky whistle blows EVERYONE shoots off? Dont do that. Take it easy and just jog, in a few minutes, u'll pass everyone. You need to find ur right pace, even if it's super slow, you should be able to run a whole mile. Then if you practice ur pace will get faster. But you dont have to run 10 miles a day to lose weight. Walking. Walking for like and hour or more a day is good. Walking really burns the calories, and keep ur stomach tucked in like ur gonna be punched. If ur tighten ur abs while ur walk, you'll lose ur tummy and some weight. Make things fun, and then you wont want to give up.

Then don't get bored. If you must eat always have fruit in your pantry instead of sweets/chips.

Start with 5 minutes jogging, if you can handle it make that 5 minutes running or 10 minutes jogging. Then figure out for yourself how hard you want to exercise.

you gotta be tough. just do what you can. walk for 30 minutes to start. then run a few laps and keep going until you are in shape. another thing is dont get bored. pick another hobby to get interested in and let that and your working out fill your schedule. and quit television. that is a huge food magnet. also talk to your PE (GYM) coach and get her and your friends to hold you accountible. at your age peer pressure is the greatest force in your life. that will work far more than anything else. good luck. If you learn this discipline now your entire life will be better. trust me.

Mannnnn. I have that problem too. Lucky for me, I never have any food in my house. hahah, but I always end up ordering pizza anyway......

NO junk food or sodas. If you feel like eating it... TRYYYYY to control yourself and think of softball softball softball and stop yourself... or, if you end up starting to eat some, just throw it away or leave it there and throw stome gross stuff and mix milk with it so itll be all gross and you won't want to eat it.. haha i know.. weird huh?

Stock your house with healthy foods, so when you feel like munching, you have no choice but to eat the good stuff. Like fruits and stuff, but try not to eat after 6.

Mmm... I hate running, but I think you should start practicing like running slow..
Try running a mile like veryyyy slow.. start slow and end slow. Then, next time, go a little faster and try not to stop, but don't push too much.
