Cracking and tears in the corners of your mouth can be angular chelosis, -a vitamin deficiency often seen in over worked and stressed -out students. B vitamin complex, plus vitamin C (always helpful this time of year) should make a big difference. Also be sure your chap product doesn't contain alcohol, it can make your chapped lips worse! Also, a lot of people are sensitive to petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and/or lanolin, either product can make your lips worse if you are allergic. Good luck!

Apply lip balm or petroleum jelly. You can also try coating your lips with skin moisturizer, vitamin E oil or aloe vera gel. These greasy products help keep your lips properly moisturized...Use lip balm that contains sunblock if you are going to be outside. Avoid licking your lips, since the saliva will evaporate and leave them dry. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Consider moistening the air in your home with a humidifier. Keep in mind that cracks at the corners of your mouth can indicate riboflavin deficiencies; you can treat this with vitamin B-2 supplements. And also Natural Overnight Treatment - Before going to bed, apply a light layer of honey to your lips. When you wake up, your lips will feel soft and moisturized. Any excess honey can be washed off with water in the morning.

Do you have a humidifier in your house? If not try that. The air is probably to dry. (especially when you are sleeping. Be careful to change the water daily) Also get Vitamin E. It is filled with liquid. Puncture a hole in it and put it on your lips. This works great.

OMG ... same here...my dad told me that it comes from some small viruses & stays for a while....
i guess that's cuz of talking alot at work & not drinking water the same time or by using some dirty lipcloss or touching ur lips with dirty hand..
i use vaseline all the time specially befor i go to bed...that helps alot...
Good Luck ;)

When you need extra vitamin B you can have a crack at each side of your lips. I can be painful too. My husband had this problem and a friend told him to get vitamin B and start taking it and it worked. Hope it works for you.
