i.e. do not worry about what you will eat etc. Was he also talking to the children who starve?

This is not a sarcastic question, I have followed his teachings all my life, I believe in the good words, but have questions...

Most of us have unanswered questions about what Jesus was or wasn't suppose to have said. You have to remember that the first writings about Christ was almost 300 years after his death. Many of them are the teachings of man.. they are made in a metaphoric way to express themselves.Hopefully God inspired these men in their writings but I think most of them were trying hard to be on a spiritual path and did not forsee the future or the multitudes as they have become..so they are limited on expression of these text. Also there was a ruler name Constantine that was pagan up until his death that pretty much decided what was to into that bible and what was not..Also something that you also must think of is the translations hundreds of them over the years . You have to just guess what the actual meaning and thoughts were.I would just look into your heart and do what you feel that you can do for children that are starving and then you can leave this world knowing you left it a better place than you found it.

God always welcomes questions! As a matter of fact God says, "Ho 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
Yes, God was refering even to the children that starve. But concider this..are the children that starve, Christians? or have they accepted Christ as their personal Savior & Lord? (or if they are too young for that...have their parents done so? ) To die in this world, if you are a Christian is not a "bad thing" but rather an entrance into life everlasting with Christ! ( a truly happy event) However if your NOT a Christian..then death is a nightmare indeed! There are not many ppl in this world that are actually Christians, though there are many that profess the "faith" ...but do they really "WALK" the talk?
It used to really bother me how in the Biblical book of Joshua, the Lord ordered the deaths of ALL those people that were not Hebrews....that is until I have learned first hand, that people that do NOT follow the Biblical teachings, usually create "havoc" for the rest of the people, in one sinful way or another. (how sad, but true) and USUALLY if the parents are lost in sin, so too will the child be. So it is ALWAYS in your best interest to SEEK the Lord while He may be found!!
Then you won't have to "fear" death as it will only be the entrance to a better place!!

There is a debate among believers on whether or not God gave us free will or he knows and planned every move we will make. I am a believer and have been my entire life. I have heard both arguements and have read scripture supporting both sides. My personal position is that I don't know. I am OK with believing something without having the whole story or proof. To me, that is what faith is. I'm OK with the fact that I will have to wait until I see Him - in fact I will have many questions for Him. This is one of the questions that the theologians debate their sides over. It's tough to think about, you know the horrors of this world, but I just know God will take care of us. It might not be the way we think it should be, like saving everyone and world peace and love and harmony. I know that what He does is far greater and more in-depth than my little human brain and heart can fathom. God said that life on earth is a test and that we were made for Heaven. And that feeling that you don't always belong here or that life is really hard sometimes and that feeling of searching for the next big thing to come along or phase of life is our innate relationship with God, our Creator, and the subconcious knowing that we really aren't supposed to be here. Anytime I start to question God I put myself back in check by thinking about the things I know for sure in my head and heart. Then I pray for patience and the knowlegde that I'll know soon enough. It might not work for you but I wanted to share my experience. I think all believers have questions - ask yourself if you are ok with questions - better yet, ask God to give you the peace you need to be OK with questions.

Are you talking about children in countries who parents have denied God and would rather save the life of a cow that might be an old relative rather than feed it to their children? Or the children of the doped up parents who spend their money on drugs instead of food for their kids?
The truth is, Christ will feed those children through us, who should be doing something about it. God does not let children starve, people let children starve.
Children suffer when grown ups are selfish, and foolish. We are the ones who have been given the task to do something about these problems.
I don't mean to sound sarcastic either, I just get irked when everyone expects God to manipulate all good things in our favor, yet these same people don't want to follow after what He has asked us to do. Then We blame Him for all that goes wrong.

It means that you shouldn't fear a person who can just kill your flesh body, because your spirit would just simply go back to The Father, while you flesh go back to the Earth. You flesh may be that but your very being is still alive. However, you should fear God alot more then anything because he can both kill your flesh body and cause your very soul to purish. Once your soul dies, you officially no longer exist, peroid. And other words, fear the guy who can utterly erease you from existence completely then some everyday man who can only kill your fleshbody. The death of the soul is known as the "second death", which is mention in Revelations 21:8. Only the truly unredeemible will this death. The second death is Satan's ultimate fate. And anyone who follow him will suffer his fate as well.

I'm guessing Matt 6:25 is the scripture you based your question on ... in reference to your question ... because the believer is blessed in so many ways the onus/commission (not to be confused with the Great Commission) was for the believer to look after the widows and orphans along with the hungry ...

In context that scripture leaned more towards Jesus instructing a believer not to fret after the daily needs ... for surely their Heavenly Father would take care of them ... hence references to nature of sparrows being fed and such ...

As much as you are blessed - you can bless others ... feed the poor etc ....

when children are starving whos' fault is it? is it not the responsibility of the parents? why blame God for every error of man? There is a blame God first attitude common among many people as though God were mister fixit every time we don't do what is wise and responsible.

He left us an instruction book which if followed brings blessings. This is the world of flesh man and as such is full of suffering. Good thing the Kingdom of Heaven is coming here and good thing Christ is the King of kings and will rule Earth. Maybe we need to see what it's like on our own to appreciate good government in action? our lives continue long after this flesh life let's make a good showing here it is a short duty.

We all have questions like yours. You and I and everybody else are the hands and feet of Christ in this world. He is no longer in the world, but His Spirit is. That is what lives in us. We are to do the work of Christ on this planet. If you are upset about starving children that is God's way of maybe asking you to do something to help them. Even if you support just one child through a organization like World Vision or whatever you trust. If you investigate you will find a way to help. God Bless.

Essentially that: Reading the rest of the passage, one must not skip Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Are these children or their parents seeking the kingdom of heaven?

Then we have the other interesting promise Jesus gave His people: "But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life" (Mark 10:30). Everyone like to blip over that "persecutions" part, but there it is. And here it is, today, in Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China, most countries on the planet persecute Christians, even kill them. They eat nasty prison food and praise their Savior.
You should be praying for them.

Actually he was speaking for men with faith in this case, and he said it this way: (read it carefully and it'll blow your mind) "So don’t worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. 32 Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, 33 and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.

Get it? Now where are these starving children and what do their people believe, honestly?
