I have the same problem when winter hits. I have found that you dont treat all of your face- just the parts that need it.

For you I would suggest that you use a gentle astringent (any type as long as its hypoalergenic- reason being you dont want to break out on your nose) and treat that on your nose.

As far as flaking which is good and typical for the body, you just need to exfoliate your skin: you can do this with a facial scrub- not too abrasive though or it will irritate the skin, or have a possibility to flake worse. In addition to that, use a very light moisturizer all over the face (because it is winter it is important to moisturize). Then in the places that it is flaking I use a heavier cream (not hand cream). For instance the best body lotion that I have found helps heal the skin is called : Utter Cream. I know wierd but I'm telling you it is the best!!!

Also one good thing about that cream is that during the summer, if you get burned you rub that on your body and helps prevent the skin from pealing, helps rebuild the skin surface, and sooths the skin.. and you can find the Utter cream and all other supplies at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens etc.

gosh i have exactly the same thing except it flakes around my nose and my eyelids! its horrible, then i got on antibiotics frmo the doctor and my acne is clearing up. try dermalogica products, everyone says proactiv is good, but it doesnt work on me and sounds as if we hav similar skin. dermalogica is used by a chick i saw in a magazine who lives in england and says the weather there makes her skin do that so she tried it and it worked wonders. i tried it too and have been for about 3-4 months now and its awesome, it costs a little bit more than your average chemist bottle but its sooo worth it, remember to be patient. hope it helps, and try putting toothpaste on spots over night and if you cant bear that then try dotting some lavender oil on em as this dries up spots. someone told me apple cider vinegar but i tried it and it was unbearably smelly, so that didnt last long. haha. well good luck :) oh and nivea moisturiser with sunscreen is pretty good too! use twice a day and i put it on on my lunch breaks too.

The best thing to use to even out your skin is a regular bar of Johnson's Baby Soap. I had the same problem with my skin and a doctor told me to do that for a few days and I would notice the difference and it truly worked. Try it. You won't be sorry.

I would suggest a good light moisturizer, applying every night and morning. I would suggest Burts Bee's Vanishing Cream (its great and works wonders!),but heck a bottle of jergens works well too, also if you wear makeup watch out for ones that have mineral oil,and will dry your skin out,and buy moisturizing ones too, that is a huge help! Good luck!

I found that after taking a shower, and while the skin is still damp, that if I use olive oil and massage it into my skin that the skin seems to stay even in it's appearance and feel.
