I want a camera that will take quick, clear pictures and that will show me on a screen what the pictures came out to look like. But I don't want the viewing of the pictures to take a long time.

You don't need to choose an expensive one. Most digital cameras will work for you. For me I'll take a look at the products of Canon, Nikon, and Olympus and choose one between $250-$400.

Depends on how much your willing to spend. I would recommond the Canon SD900IS for a pocket camera, the SD700 and SD800 are both really good camera, the 900 has 10MP and face decttection technology. For a budget camera, the Canon A630 or A640. Same as the SD's good picture, maybe even better (havent compared yet). Handle low light a little better than SD's. For ultra-zoom the Canon S3IS. Expensive but excellent photo quality. 12x opticial zoom too. For an SLR, Canon Rebel XTi (400D) or the Nikon D50, D70, or D80. All are excellent cameras, Canon has a better JPEG though.

Try Website dpreview.com I don't know what price range you're about to spend. And this goes for Lelani too...
the Canon A 630 doesn't seem like a bad camera. In fact at least one reviewer liked it's image quality bette than the A 710 So Amber P do some research. Possibly look into Nov '06 Consumer Reports at you local library.

well for me im in the process of looking for camera. The camera i have takes to long and the pictures are blurry sometimes. i pretty much settled on a cannon power shot sd700 or a cannon a710.
I looked for months and that's what it comes down too.
I used yahoo shopping and cnet to help me narrow down the choice. I also looked at reviews and pricing on different websites like ebay or target. You might just have to do some research in order to find what you want because everyone is different.

Choose Canon. I recommend the Canon PowerShot SD900. The link below is the link to the Canon Website, from here, you can choose any camera you would like to view specs on and it shows you what features it presents.
