First off, I'll let you know I've read a TON about tragus piercings all over the internet and on here. But I haven't really heard from younger people, like 14 and 15.

I'm getting my tragus pierced for my 13th birthday next month. I've had my lobes pierced and my left cartilage. But I'm not sure if I can take the pain =[

I understand how different people take pain differently but the majority of the people have said it's painful, but not unbearable and it's definitely worth it.

But then again this is coming from 18+ people who probably have many piercings.

So ultimately, anyone here around my age get their tragus done and how bad was it for you?

Thanks everyone.

Well let me say a few things:
1) Yes, I am getting it done professionally and my piercer will pierce my tragus (they say it's okay to be 13 and have it done). I already know about this place and I'm sure they will do a fine job.

2) "Sweetie", considering I've read up on it and have contacted a piercer, my parents are fine with it.

haha. anyways, "a girl" and "3mm5" were very helpful :]

so yes, im pretty sure i'll go through with it. It seems pretty much worth it to most even if it hurts like crazy.

well im 19 and just got my rook pierced last monday its the hard cartilage flap above the tragus. i hope you are gettign this done professionally! yes it will hurt! all piercings hurt. that is alot of cartilage that it has to go through and could make a pop noise. 2 of my friend got it done last monday too (tragus) they said it didnt hurt. but it will be sore for quite a while and they can take up to 6 to 8 months to fully heal. dont be afraid to ask the piercer questions. they are there to help you and they will calm you down before they pierce you.. make sure you eat some sugary food before going.. to avoid fainting.. a the body shop i go to they offer you sodas before you go in lolol but dont be so nervous! of course its going to hurt but it will be a bearable pain do dont worry!

and its only a temporary pain! i asked alot of questions on here abotu gettign my rook pierced i asked how much it hurt and what i shoudl expect people told me rook, tragus and conch hurt the most. but to me the rook just felt liek any other cartilage piercing..

heres a pic of it..

I think they're adorable. I have yet to get one myself though. You have to wait for it to heal - which will take about eight weeks. If you change it before that point it could cause infection. If you do decide to change it before it's fully healed make sure that your hands and your new jewelry are nice and clean. Also, make sure you're not using hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, glyoxide, antibacterial ointments, they can dry and irritate the area and often cause more damage than actually being helpful. Antibacterial soap and warm water is normally your best bet. And while I don't have any sleeping tips I do think it may be a good idea to make sure to switch out your pillowcase often while it's healing, you don't want to continue laying it down in any bacteria that may end up there.

it is not that bad! kinda like a cartilage piercing. If you get it, just be careful not to get it caught in brush when brushing hair and use the other ear for the phone for a while. If your parents are letting you do it, GO FOR IT! If you dont like it afterall or its hurting still after some time you can always take it out.

i'm 17 and i just got mine done.
the pain was probably the second worse out of all my piercings (next to my rook) just because it's so thick.
i have a really high pain tolerance, so it wasn't too bad for me, but everyone feels it differently. it kind of felt like getting my head pierced.
if you're worried about not being able to take the pain, you might want to reconsider getting a thinner spot on your ear. www.bmezine.com has tons of examples of different places on your ear you can get instead.
really though, it only hurts for a second, and looks really nice when it's done. i think you should just go for it.

I'm sure you are mature and responsible, but some shops won't go anywhere near people as young as you.

Your age or not, no one can tell you how bad its going to hurt you. Mine hurt, but not as bad as other piercings. Just make sure you go to a reputable professional piercer and take care of your piercing.

I got my ears all the way done when i was 13ish. i got my belly button done when i was 14, got my nose done when i was 14, and got my tounge done right after my nose. My nose hurt the worst out of all piercings.. but i was in cheerleading and had to take them out... but now that im outta school i wanna get my nose redone, it looked cute, and its the only one that closed!

From my opinion. you shouldn't get it. It really hurts like hell. I had to take mines out. cause I could not sleep at all. It also was annoying cause i like rub my ear alot and i was always feeling the ball mad cold in my ear. not a good feeling. it's your choice

13? No offense, sweetie, but I recommend you wait until you're older.
