When you kiss someone on the lips, you've got a pretty clear intention of what you want out of that kiss. I kissed my best friend on the top of her head because she needed to know that she was loved and feel cared about. That has more of an "I'm your protector" meaning behind it, and I wanted her to know she can come to me for anything.

When someone kisses you on the head, it means that they just want to be friends. It's not romantic and they view you as a relative or something.

When your family does it that means they love you. But for a guy it may mean differently. If he kisses you on the forehead more than he kisses you on the lips then thats not a good thing.
