I had a K-9 tooth pulled a few weeks ago. My gum is swelled really bad around it & it hurts. Does this sound like infection?

I am a dental assistant and it sounds like you may still have an infection. The infection could be in the tissue, bone, or another tooth. Call you dentist and tell him/her what is going on. Your dentist may take an x-ray, put you on antibiotics, and/or do a procedure while you there.

For temporary relief gargle with warm salt water at least 2 times a day. For the swelling place an ice pack on the area for 20 minutes, then remove for 20 minutes, then repeat.
