Ge 1:1
In the beginning God created * the heaven and the earth.
Ge 1:2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Ge 1:3
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Ge 1:4
And God saw * the light, that it was good: and God divided * the light from the darkness.
Ge 1:5
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Ge 1:6
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Ge 1:7
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Ge 1:8
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Ge 1:9
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Now you tell me did he wave his hand or did he just speak it and it was so. You can speak thing into your life also. Get to know him and he will show you to how to speak.

I believe that he strictly spoke it into existence. I know that it may be a difficult concept to understand, but if you will read Genesis Chapter 1 (The passage on the creation, I think that it might help.) God did not have to wave his hands to get things done, like a magician would do in our times. I sincerely hope that this helps. I will be praying for you, and if you have any more questions, please feel free to email me any time and I will try to help you if I can. In God's love.

I doubt God either spoke or waved his hands, but then I wasn't there. Chances are as a being of pure energy God simply 'willed' the universe into existence. Either that or you could take the esoteric/theosophical stand-point that God is the Universe and we are all part of God therefore if we wave our hands....

"From the Word of God springs life and all that is good" answers that pretty well.
His action is done through his word, hence the validity for the Bible. He IS the word.
Though he could'ave, I wasn't there :-)
