He messed up right from the start, right after 9/11 when he said we had to fight a holy war.
He is too indoctrinated in Christianity to see things any other way. It is to be expected from him -- his father said that anyone who does not believe in god should not be allowed to call themselves American. And these narrow minded creatures run our country. No wonder the rest of the world hates us.
edit -- right on, Gemma.

Islam does not teach coexistence with any other religion.
Islam does in fact teach that all nonbelievers must convert or die.
If you deny this, you do not know the quran.
So, what is the difference between the Muslim that murders others today in horrific style...or the Muslim that covertly draws political power in tolerant "Christian" states. If they achieved governing power in these states, do you truly believe that they would not impose Islamic law?
Bush will say anything at all that will enable him to do whatever it is he wants. He'll tap-dance to any tune to get a nod from Congress or the American people. Islam=terrorism is his tune of the day. It is simplistic and embarrassing.
Bush was a poor student of global affairs and political science. He still does not grasp the idea that there is no such thing as separation of church and state in Muslim countries. Their church IS their state & by the very nature of their law they cannot hate us any less. Though they may be more inclined to outward shows of their hatred.
Christians need to ignore the glossy PR & read Robert Spencer's guide to Islam. Smart Christians don't listen to Bush, they listen to God.
Do not denounce others for that which Muslims know but do not admit to ....

I agree with you. There are fanatics in every religion.
But its the media that just brands Terrorism with Islam.
User rubysedona has accused islam of NOT co-existing with any other religion.
I think she does NOT know about the times of the Prophet when the Jews lived freely in Madinah. And even during the times of the later Caliphs, the jews and even the idolaters were free to live in the islamic soceity with NO distinction between them.
There are incidents wherein the Judge passed his judgement AGAINST the ruling Caliph (Ali) and in favour of the Jew because of Lack of evidence.
And the same Jew confessed after the ruling was passed and admitted his mistake.
So where is "convert or die"???
Please dont pass baseless, ignorant and arrogant comments.

Yes, I do believe he is trying to demonize an entire religion for political gain.Because his base support come from Christian Fundamentalistism he has created a "boogey-man" for Christians. Because of the belief held by many Christians that anyone not Christian is evil, what better group than the 2nd largest religion in the world to demonize? The same people that *gasp* say that Jesus is not the messiah. After creating the fear he assures us all that he knows what is best for us. You know, things like the Patriot Act, illegal wire taps, domestic spying, incarcerating citizens with no basic rights for years at a time.
Bush is taking our country down a dark path, and the so called "good people" are the ones that are allowing him to do it. Then they have the nerve to say that they are making the world a better place. I say BULLSHIT!

Yet in the last week right-wing American terrorists have threatened the lives of Americans in at least two publicized incidents (the pizza parlor that accepts pesos and the carpet company employee who voiced his opposition to the war in Iraq). And just yesterday Bush attended an anti-abortion rally in support of a movement that has used terrorism extensively.
Bush is pretty selective about which terrorists to oppose.

are you able to are saying "out of context." Your fact omitted the section the position he reported his determination become for diplomatic concepts to the themes of the midsection east. you also ignore that our enemies have a vote in any diplomatic and/or military attempt. Iran has made it sparkling they are going to do what they want to do and to hell with something else of the international. under no circumstances observed international relatives as an exceedingly effectual device in that area of the international, a minimum of no longer for the purely appropriate 50 years.

I agree he should have pointed out the difference, but I don't think he was trying to make a connection on purpose.
Bush doesn't write his speeches, staff at the White House do.

I think he IS trying to equate Islam with terrorism. The media and many others have already done a successful job of portraying Islam as the most violent religion on Earth. You can tell by the people on this site.
There are reasons for this, but you probably won't believe them if I told you until you see what comes of it for yourself.

People already make this connection.
Personally, I think we need to focus on the Christian extremists in our OWN country. Fundamentalism in ANY religion always leads to violence.
